The lyrics are so beautiful in this song. The first lyric says, "Just yesterday morning, they let me know that you were gone. Susanne the pans they made put an end to you. I walked out this morning, and I wrote down this song. I just can't remember who to send it to." Then the chorus comes in with, "Woah, I've seen Fire, and I've seen Rain. I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end. I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend, but I always thought that I'd see you again."
Then the second verse says, "Won't you look down upon me Jesus? You've got to help me make a stand. You've just got to see me through another day. My body's aching and my time is at hand. And I won't make it any other way." Then the chorus comes back in. Then the third verse says, "Been walking my mind to an easy time my back turned towards the Sun. Lord knows when the cold wind blows it'll turn your head around. Well, there's hours of time on the telephone line, to talk about things to come. Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground." Then the chorus repeats again and then the song ends with an ad-libbed ending of the chorus.
This song is so powerful to me because I had a crush in high school, and I still do like her A LOT, even to this day, (I'm not going to lie here!), and this song, as well as one other one that I will be doing in two weeks, really puts how I feel about our 'situation' into words. What this song is stating is that I've seen a lot of crap in my days, but the sight of her face again will make all the waiting worth while.
Whenever I hear this song, I always hope that I get to see her one more time. I hope that I get to hug her one more time. I hope that we get to talk for hours again one more time. That is the hope that this song gives me. It is dark and gloomy now, because we aren't together, but hopefully if and when we see each other again, it will become better.
Now you might be saying, 'Dylan, you're an idiot, why would you be writing something so private and intimate like this on the blog', and the simple answer is this..., I have nothing to hide on this blog, and about the person that I am talking about, I have already told her how deeply I feel, so it's no big deal, trust me, it's all good!
Anyways, I hope you guys liked the song, and I hope it speaks to you like it does to me!
Did you like this song like I do? Do you think it speaks a good message? Could you use this song for a time in your life? (It doesn't need to be in a relationship setting.)
