I have to say it was not all together that bad. By the time I dried off, and was starting to get re-dressed again, I was already pretty warmed up and almost went back in a second time.
Trust me guys, this was my ninth time jumping in, and there have been plenty worst times. There was the third year we went in, and the subject of last weeks Memory Monday, where there was snow on the ground and the water was below freezing. There was last year where the water was ice cold, and also my first and second years were pretty cold. Two years ago though, I went in a few seconds later for a second time, because the water was in the almost in the 60's. Now my ratings are out for the years, from best to worst...
(Also with it is the sweatshirt colors from that year, and where it says 'and another color', what that means is that the first color is the main color of the sweatshirt, and the other color is the polar bear logo outline and the filled-in lettering color on the shirt. The Polar Bear and Letter Trimming have always been white, except for the 9/11 Tenth Anniversary one in 2012, where it was the American Flag.)

This year was a lot of fun, but next year will be very exciting, as it will be the tenth time that I will be going in. When we first started doing this in 2008, the year after hearing about it before the Giants won the Super Bowl that day, there were only seven people from the firehouse to go in. Now there is only three people to go into all nine dives. It is me, and two great guys from Engine 4, Scott Clark and Keith Fitzroy. We share an elite club, and will share an elite milestone next year.
So that was my exciting day, and now I can sit back, and watch some funny commercials, and some excellent football!
Have you ever done something like this before? Would you do something like this?
