Coming into this 50th Super Bowl, there has been a lot of time to reflect on the past. As a Jets fan, we have the one, but it was voted as one of the most memorable Super Bowls ever. We won Super Bowl III, after "The Guarantee" by Hall of Fame Quarterback Joe Namath. He has been the main promotor of the Super Bowl this year, and he will be both presenting an award tonight at the NFL Awards, and he will be joined by the other MVP's from the other 48 Super Bowl's before the big game tomorrow.
But for this game tomorrow, it should be a fight for the ages. You have the Number one Defense in the NFL, Denver, vs. the Number one Offense in the NFL, Carolina, and the Number two Defense in the NFL, the Panthers, vs. the Number two Offense in the NFL, the Broncos
It should be exciting as the Broncos are lead by arguably the greatest quarterback in the history of the game, in Peyton Manning. The Panthers have one of the most electrifying QB's in the game right now, in Cam Newton. You have a Bronco defense anchored by people like Von Miller and Aqib Talib, and Panthers have theirs anchored by people like Josh Norman and Luke Kuechly.
This is seriously going to be a game of inches, and a game where possibly one or two scores could win you the game. I think the hot Denver defense might get a score, they have been hot, but so have the Panthers so watch out for a pick six from them. I think there will be a few fumbles and interceptions by both sides, and possibly double-digits in sacks for both teams combined. They are both excellent pass rushers. There aren't going to be many touchdowns I don't think, and if they are they have to be on the ground. You have a better shot to punch it in, rather than throw it in, but even then it's not a fair chance, because their run D's are so good.
I think at the end of it all, the Denver Broncos will be pulling this one out. I think that it will be a close game all the way, but it will become out of sight near the end. I don't think it is going to come down to the last play, like a few of the last couple of Super Bowls have. Even though the Panthers come with a three-layered attack, with passing, RB running, and QB running, I still think that the Broncos will win for Peyton, and send him off with the most wins ever by a QB with an even 200.
Score: Broncos 24 - Carolina 10 (Here's why: I think that Carolina will have a lead again early, but will blow it for real this time. They were shaky in the Seattle game, and almost coughed it up to the Giants a few weeks ago, and they might be a first quarter to first half team for real this time. I think the Broncos will come out of the locker room after a nice impassioned speech by Peyton, and win the game. I think we will win the MVP and walk off into the night as a champion.)
So that is my game 'analysis'. I hope everyone has a happy, fun, and of course safe Super Bowl Sunday!
(Also, I hope the Halftime Show doesn't suck. I don't really like Coldplay, but am excited to see Bruno Mars and Beyonce again. They were really good in Super Bowl's 48 and 47, respectively. I hope that they do a lot with the older concerts, like with Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Sir Paul McCartney, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and of course Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake)
Are you excited for the Super Bowl? What are you most excited to see? Who do you want to win? What are your plans for the day?
Peace and Love,
DGS
