I remember very well the days before my only sister Kellie was born. I remember I went to K-Mart, (I know!), the night before, and got the newest PC game, Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron. I got it, and I told my mother to download it onto the family PC, because I didn't want to do it, I was kinda lazy back then, not going to lie here. She said ok, and I went to sleep. It was a Saturday, and I woke up, and my mother and father, were not there. Just my Nana was down there in her chair, watching her Saturday shows. I then got a call, from my dad, that said that I had a new baby sister, by the name of Kellie Ann Sandas.
I went to see her that night, and it was an experience I'll never forget. I remember holding her, and promising to take care of her forever, which I have done to the best of my ability, over these thirteen years. I remember that she was so small. She was about six weeks premature, so she had no finger or toe nails, no hair, and again, she was so small man!
Over these thirteen years, I have had the absolute pleasure of being her big brother. Her athleticism is off the charts guys! I have seen her turn into one of the best softball players I have ever seen. She is an excellent bowler. She played baseball with the boys and basketball with the girls and the boys. She used to play soccer on three different teams. She has swam on two different teams. She has expressed her interest in playing Shot Put, Discus, Lacrosse, and Volleyball.
Her studies are almost as good as mine. She did get something, I never got, because my old elementary school didn't have it, and that being able to join the National Junior Honor Society. She has excelled in school, and I couldn't be prouder of her.
She has been the greatest thing to happen to me, and I am again, so immensely proud to be her brother. I wouldn't change her for the world!
I know she is going to read this, and probably beat me, but I don't care! She knows how much I love her, and how much I support her. Happy 13th Birthday Kellie!
Did you think this was a nice thing to do for my sister? Would you do the same for your sibling(s)?
Peace and Love,
DGS
