The Boy From New York City

Film Friday VII: "Stepbrothers"

For my seventh Film Friday, I am going to choose a movie that always makes me laugh at every possible location in it. I am going to choose a movie that is highly underrated on the comedy scene, and that is 2008's Stepbrothers, with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly.

The plot of this movie is that there are two forty year old men, one who lives with his divorced mother, and another one who lives with his widowed father. They meet at a convention, date for a bit, and get married. They then have to move in together, and this movie follows their paths as they try to get along. They start off as enemies, and then become best friends. They make rules for each other that they have to follow. They eventually come together to stop Brennan's brother Derek, from selling the house, and having them move. They are successful in doing that, and later on in the film, because of their father, they have to go and get jobs and that sequence is very funny. They then have to save the 'fuckin' Catalina Wine Mixer, which they do together, and then the movie ends.

There are so many other famous actors that are in this movie. Richard Jenkins plays the father of John C. Reilly's character. Mary Steenburgen plays the mother of Will Ferrell's character. Adam Scott plays Will Ferrell's brother, and Kathryn Hahn plays his wife.  Rob Riggle, Seth Rogen, and Ken Jeong, also make guest-appearances throughout the film.

This movie is non-stop funny from beginning to end. Down below I will link some of my personal favorite parts of this movie. This movie is a must see, and if and once you do, I guarantee you that you will not regret it at all!

Have you ever seen this movie before? Would you want to? If you have seen the movie, what are your favorite parts?
Peace and Love,
DGS

Quotes of the Day:
"Brennan that is the voice of an angel. Brennan I can't even make eye contact with you right now. Your voice is like a combination of Fergie and Jesus." - John C. Reilly, (as Dale)
"Maybe someday we can become friends. Friends who ride majestic, translucent steeds, shooting flaming arrows across the Bridge of Hemdale." - Will Ferrell, (as Brennan)
"I feel like a lightning bolt just hit the tip of my penis!" - Will Ferrell, (as Brennan)
